Howell Passes 1,000 Career Points

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Marissa Howell made history Friday afternoon during the Leopards' second road trip of the season. The senior surpassed 1,000 career points, placing her 10th in the program's all-time points list.

The La Verne women's basketball team fell to Whitman 94-61.

Howell needed just six points to reach the milestone and passed it on a pull-up jumper with 2:05 left to play. Howell is now on four of the La Verne all-time lists. She is the program leader in three-pointers (226), 10th in scoring (1,001), eighth in three-point field goal percentage (.337), and second in free throw percentage (.845). Howell finished the game with seven points and four rebounds.

Alyssa Smith recorded her third-straight double-double. She finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists. Annie Trinh and Christen Ziska discord 10 points apiece. Jasmine Prajitno added seven points, Allison McGill scored six, and Caydance Hook grabbed three boards.
