CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne softball team traveled to Pomona-Pitzer for the first of a three game series. The Leopards fell short 11-1 with six innings played Friday afternoon.
La Verne struck first when Cassandra Zapata scored in the second inning off a throwing error. However the Sagehens' strong hitting was too great for the Leopards. Alayna Munoz got the start, pitching three innings and three other Leopards came in for relief in the pitcher's circle.
Season Impact
La Verne drops to 10-19 overall and 4-9 in SCIAC play.
Next Game
La Verne will finish the series against the Sagehens on Tuesday, April 16th begginning at 5 p.m. A rescheduled double-header due to weather.
