LA VERNE, CA — Reigning Leopard of the Week
Dahmaj Warren scored over 30 points in a game for the sixth time this season. But it wasn't enough as the University of La Verne men's basketball team fell to the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags 96-68 in a SCIAC matchup at the Sports Science Athletic Pavilion on Monday night.
Warren, known as "Agent 0", is the second-highest scorer in the SCIAC with 369 overall points scored, dropped 31 of La Verne's points and snatched six rebounds in the loss.
Logen Howard picked up 11 points and three rebounds while
Karl Ashley put up eight points and grabbed a rebound.
The Leopards struggled, making only eight of 24 field goal attempts successfully in the first half leading to a 47-49 advantage for at the half. ULV closed the gap to just 13 points in the second half but couldn't execute a comeback. The Stags were led by AJ Rohosy who racked up 22 points and nine rebounds. Caelen Jones finished with 12 points and four rebounds while Neil Owens added 11 points.
La Verne is now 0-6 in conference play and 5-10 overall while CMS is undefeated in the SCIAC and 11-3 overall.
The Leopards will try to rebound from this loss when they travel to Caltech to take on the Beavers at 2 p.m. in Pasadena at the Braun Gymnasium.
