LA VERNE, CA – The University of La Verne women's soccer team scored twice on senior night to earn a 2-0 win over Caltech.
The Leopards dominated control early, peppering the Beavers with four shots, while holding Caltech to zero 20 minutes into the game. That's when
Jordan Moody crossed a pass from the sideline into the box. A Caltech defender deflected the pass to star freshman
Patricia Acoba, who turned, rounded her defender, and sent a shot to the back corner of the net.
The second goal came in the second half as the Leopards continued to pressure the Beavers, and multiple corners kept the Leos in Beaver territory.
Jordan Moody got the scoring again, launching a corner kick into the box that was sent right back out to her by the Beavers. Moody answered with another long cross towards the front of the net.
Sofia Chiovare stepped up, beat her defender, and tapped the shot in to double the Leopards' lead. They maintained control during the remainder of the game and finished out strong.
Katy Beck was in the goal for the Leopards and had three saves, keeping the Caltech offense at bay for the whole ninety.
