CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne women's soccer team fell to Pomona-Pitzer in a tough battle on Wednesday. The Leopards were coming off a great win against Caltech, but couldn't close out against the Sagehens, falling 2-0.
Offensively,
Lexi Torres had a good game, contributing to La Verne's shot on goal percentage. On defense,
Maren Handel held her own, playing a full aggressive 90. The real superhero of the game was
Katy Beck. Beck is back from upper body issues and is doing great work for her team, just as she was prior to the injury. The freshman grabbed a career-high 11 saves in the game to give the Leopards a chance.
The Leopards are back in action against Cal Lutheran on Saturday, October 18th at 7 p.m. at home at Ortmayer Stadium.
