WHITTIER, CA — The University of La Verne track and field teams travelled to Whittier College to compete at SCIAC Quad Cup No. 2 against the Poets, Occidental College, Cal Lutheran, and Caltech.

The Leopards continued to improve, setting 34 personal records at the meet, 13 for the women's squad and 21 for the men's. 

Event Winners

Four Leopards posted event wins at the meet. Zachary Reid finished first in the 110 hurdles for the second time this spring, winning with a time of 14.78. Reid is currently ranked eighth in the country with a time of 14.69.

Finn McClure won the 5000m with a time of 15:13.64, Fernando Cortez finished first in the 1500m at 4:03.11, and Ryleigh LaRue crossed first in the 5000m at 19:35.11.

From the Coach

"This was another good weekend for us, with several PR's and consistent results - it sets us up well for the upcoming month of April - which will include some of the biggest meets on the West Coast and even the country.  Our success this season will be based on individual improvements, and this group, while very young, is showing its ability to work hard and improve regularly," said Kevin Reid, University of La Verne track and field head coach.
