LA VERNE, CA- Lizette Salas, a current Ladies Professional Golf Association player and former golfer and graduate of the University of Southern California, is joining the University of La Verne golf teams as an assistant coach.

Salas brings years of golf experience and knowledge to La Verne. She first joined the LPGA tour in 2012, and in her 13-year career has amassed 118 top 25 finishes, 38 career top 10 finishes and placed first twice. She has also reached top 20 in the world and represented the United States five times at the Solheim Cup, being a member of the winning 2015 and 2017 teams.

Salas attended USC on a golf scholarship, and in her time as a Trojan, earned three victories, was honored as the 2008 Pacific-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, claimed the Pac-10 Player of the Year title twice (2009, 2011), was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team three times (2009–2011), and received NGCA First Team All-American recognition in both 2009 and 2011. She became the first in her family to receive a college degree when she graduated with her Bachelor's in Sociology in 2012.
