LA VERNE, CA. — The University of La Verne baseball team wrapped up a milestone-filled 2025 season that will be remembered as one of the most decorated campaigns in program history. The Leopards finished with a 35-11 overall record, captured their third straight SCIAC Regular Season Championship, won their first SCIAC Tournament title since 2015, and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament.
Led by longtime head coach Scott Winterburn, the season also featured a personal career milestone—Winterburn secured his 600th career coaching victory in April during a commanding win over Caltech, further solidifying his legacy as one of Division III baseball's most respected leaders. The 2025 season marked his 25th at the helm of the program.
The Leopards put together another dominant conference campaign, finishing with an 18-6 SCIAC record to secure their third consecutive SCIAC Regular Season Championship. That regular season title marked a historic milestone for the University of La Verne, becoming the 100th combined team conference championship in Leopard Athletics history. Building on that momentum, La Verne carried its strong play into the postseason, capping off the run with its first SCIAC Tournament title since 2015 and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
At the NCAA Division III Regional hosted at Ben Hines Field, the Leopards battled through tough competition, ultimately falling just short of advancing to Championship Sunday. Still, their presence on the national stage reaffirmed their position as one of the top programs in the West Region and across the country.
Among the many standouts this season were multiple All-SCIAC honorees, with five Leopards named to the First Team and two more to the Second Team. Ryan Vosika earned SCIAC Tournament MVP honors following a clutch performance throughout the postseason, while the coaching staff was named SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year for the third consecutive season.
With a deep roster, a winning culture, and historic accomplishments now etched into the program's record books, the University of La Verne baseball team has set a standard for excellence that will carry into future seasons. The Leopards will return with the same grit, pride, and championship mindset that defined their unforgettable 2025 campaign.
