LA VERNE, CA - The University of La Verne women's volleyball team will open the 2025 season atop the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings, earning the No. 1 spot in the league's preseason poll. The Leopards collected 79 points and seven first-place votes, edging out nine-time reigning champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
La Verne, fresh off its historic 2024 run that included the program's first SCIAC Tournament Championship since the event began in 2009, returns a powerful lineup led by Preseason All-America candidate and 2023 SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Year Mya Ray. She is joined by
Lauren Gott (First Team All-SCIAC),
Zacky Coaston (Second Team All-SCIAC), and Kimi Watanabe-Mayhew (2024 SCIAC Newcomer of the Year), giving the Leopards one of the most dynamic front lines in the nation.
With championship experience and star power leading the way, the Leopards look to transform last season's momentum into a new era of dominance.
