LA VERNE, CA — Mya Ray has been selected as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Volleyball Athlete of the Week announced Monday.

Mya Ray played another standout week in a pair of wins for the No. 1 Leopards. In a five-set thriller over Whittier, she delivered a season-high 30 kills on .329. In a four-set home win over Pomona-Pitzer, she hit .455 with 25 kills. She finished the week with six blocks, three aces, two assists, and 12 digs.
This is the third time Ray has been named SCIAC Athlete of the Week this season. She was named
Athlete of the Week after leading the Leopards to a 3-0 showing at the Whittier Invitational. She
earned the honor the next week after the leading La Verne to a 3-0 week at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational that included wins over then No. 3 UW-Oshkosh, No. 8 Hope College, and RV University of Chicago. Ray was also named the
AVCA DIII Player of the Week for her showing in Wisconsin.
The Leopards have another tough match when they travel face No. 17 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps tomorrow at 7 p.m.
