CLAREMONT, CA -The University of La Verne women's basketball team fell to the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 69-54 in Claremont on Saturday afternoon.
Alyssa Smith led the Leopards yet again with 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and one block. Isabella Gray-Musolff followed with 13 points, five rebounds and three assists. Maya Sanborn chipped in eight points.Â
La Verne kept pace with Pomona-Pitzer early, trailing by just six points at halftime but were outscored 20–8 in the third quarter, and despite bettering the Sagehens the fourth quarter by three, were unable to complete the comeback.
The Leopards fall to 4-9 overall and 0-5 in SCIAC play. They will be back in action today at 12 p.m. against Hardin-Simmons University in The Tents in a non-conference matchup.Â
