REDLANDS, CA — The University of La Verne women's basketball team fell to the Redlands Bulldogs, 57–48, on Wednesday night at Currier Gym.
 
Alyssa Smith delivered another standout performance for the Leopards, recording 16 points and ten rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season, along with five assists. The junior now ranks second in the conference in total points with 299. Newcomers Maya Sanborn and Isabella Gray-Musolff also continued to shine in their La Verne debut seasons. Sanborn finished with nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, four blocks, and a steal, while Gray-Musolff added 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
 
Despite being outscored 20–9 in the opening quarter, the Leopards showed resilience and battled back to cut the deficit to four heading into halftime. La Verne outscored Redlands 11–8 in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs pulled away with a 20-point fourth quarter to secure the win.
 
La Verne will continue SCIAC play this Saturday at home against the Occidental Tigers at 4 p.m.
