WALLA WALL, WA — The University of La Verne women's soccer team played Puget Sound headed out of state for the first time this season. The Leopards battled against Puget Sound but came up short 3-2.
After Puget Sound took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute off a penalty kick the Leopards tied the score 20 minute slater.
Megan Sewell scored La Verne's first official goal of the season off an assist by
Patricia Acoba.
In the second half, Puget Sound scored a little under 10 minutes into the period to retake the lead. The Leopards answered back in the 70th minute with a strong goal scored by
Bridget Ward.
The Leopard stayed aggressive offensively, but couldn't fine the go-ahead goal. The Loggers scored the difference-maker in the 80th minute.
Sophia Penaflor finished with five saves.
The Leopards face off against Whitman College tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
