REDLANDS, CA — The University of La Verne track and field teams competed at SCIAC No. 2 on Saturday, racking up five wins at the meet.
Joshua Collier led the Leopards with a win in the men's 110m hurdles, posting a time of 15.68. He was closely behind by Zachary Reid, who took second with a time of 15.83.
Collier also ran a leg of the winning 4x100m relay along with Davion Fields, Tyler Thomas, and LaVaughn Smooth who finished with a time of 44.05.
Jazzlyn Johnson added a win in the 100m hurdles, crossing at 17.58. Marissa Hehir won the 800m run with a personal-best time of 2:27.25.
Jayden Figueroa won the 200m dash, besting the competition with a time of 23.61.
Two Leopards finished in the top three in the men's 800m run. Zyeir Lasley-Shabete took second (2:03.89), and Nicolas Saenz finished third (2:04.28).
Ivan Estrada added a third-place finish in the 100m dash at 11.67. Hunter Bond led La Verne in the field events, taking third in the javelin (120'2").
Next Meet
The Leopard will compete next at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, hosted at Pomona College's Strehle Track at 9 a.m.
