LA VERNE, CA — Jay Alvarado Wing has been named Men's Golf SCIAC Golfer of the Week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced.

Alvarado Wing picked up the honor after taking the top spot at SCIAC No. 2. Alvarado Wing bested his conference competition in a tough field, winning the tournament by one stroke, 2-under 138.

This is Alvarado Wing's second SCIAC Golfer of the Week selection. He earned the honor earlier this year after winning the Leopard Spring Invitational and leading La Verne to a team win in the event. 

This is the third overall Golfer of the Week honors for the Leopards. Jason Bustos picked up the award last week after his performance in the Lowery Invitational.
