LOS ANGELES – After an intense weekend of championship Track & Field at the 2024 SCIAC Championships, a few Leopards took to the track at the annual Oxy Invitational.
The mid-distance crew of
Zyeir Lasley-Shabete,
Nicolas Saenz, and
Isaac Stockton competed in the 800m, highlighted by Saenz's seasonal best run over 800m (1:56.22). He was closely followed by Lasley-Shabete and Stockton who clocked performances just off their personal bests.
Gwen Maddox competed in the 3000m steeplechase, where she ran just off her personal best The women's 4x400m relay team of
Peyton Carrera,
Lizbeth Garcia,
Madison Bravo, and
Princess Macon posted a time of 4:40.46.
The Leopards return to the track ] this coming weekend at the Azusa Pacific Franson Last Chance Qualifier from May 10-11, where they will continue to either prepare for the upcoming NCAA Championships at the end of the month or improve their standing on the NCAA DIII performance lists.
The top 22 individuals and the top 16 relays will earn a berth into the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
