LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne baseball team is set to host the 2024 SCIAC Baseball Postseason Tournament.

The Leopards earned the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage after claiming back-to-back SCIAC Regular Season Championships last Saturday. La Verne will also be the home team in all games it plays. 

La Verne enters the tournament ranked No. 14 by D3baseball.com and No. 16 by the National Baseball Coaches Association (NBCA). The Leopards open the double-elimination tournament on Thursday at 3 p.m. against No. 4 seed and No. 23/17 nationally ranked Cal Lutheran.  

Tickets can be purchased online or in advance or for $10. SCIAC students, faculty, and staff with institutional ID and children under 12 are free.

The Leopards and Kingsmen faced off three times during the regular season. La Verne won the series-opening game 12-4 at home before dropping a road doubleheader 5-1 and 7-6.

No. 2 seed No. 12/15 ranked Pomona-Pitzer and No. 3 seed No. 29/RV ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps face off in the other opening-round game on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Pomona College.

Regardless of Thursday's results, the Leopards will play at home on Friday at 3 p.m.
