Box Score SAN DIMAS, CA - The University of La Verne Women's basketball team played their second game of the season against Life Pacific on Friday evening, falling to the Warriors, 78-56.
 
Alyssa Smith recorded her first double-double of the season, leading the Leopards with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Jossy Calizo added 10 points, while Justine Prajitno chipped in eight and Kaylee Shimoda contributed seven to round out La Verne's scoring.
 
The Leopards opened the game strong, outscoring Life Pacific 21–13 in the first quarter to take an early lead, but momentum shifted in the second, when the Warriors responded with a 25-point frame to move in front at the half. 
 
Despite La Verne putting together a steady 15-point third quarter, Life Pacific continued to capitalize offensively and maintained control the rest of the way to lead them to the win.
 
The Leopards (1-1) will look to regroup against UC Santa Cruz on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the tents.
