LA VERNE, CA — Three members of the University of La Verne football team picked up All-SCIAC honors, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Thursday.
Wide receiver Jimmy Rumsey and cornerback Jomar Brown picked up First Team All-SCAC honors, and linebacker D'Artangion Martin earned Second Team All-SCIAC recognition

Rumsey earned back-to-back first team accolades after a historic season for the Leopards. The junior set La Verne's all-time receptions (147) and all-time receiving yards (2,103) records. The junior finished the season with 635 receiving yards, 42 receptions, six touchdowns, and 15.1 yards per catch, all rank in the top four in the SCIAC.
Brown picked up his first all-conference honor after a breakout junior season. Brown was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and
SCIAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week after B recording two interceptions and four tackles in a 26-8 win at Pomona-Pitzer. He ended the season with a career-high 41 tackles, 2.5 tackles for losses, and a fumble recovery.
Martin made his mark in his first season with the Leopards. He led La Verne and finished second in the SCIAC with 70 tackles and 7.8 tackles per game. He led the Leopards with 6.5 tackles for losses and ranked second with 37 solo tackles.
