Box Score LA VERNE, CA - Kaylee Shimoda led the pack with 20 points as the University of La Verne women's basketball team opened their 2025 campaign with a 64-58 win over the Westcliff Warriors.
 
After an even 17-17 first quarter, the Leopards gained momentum in the second, outscoring Westcliff 22–12 to take control of the game and go into halftime with a ten point, 39-29 lead. La Verne maintained their edge through the second half, matching the Warriors' scoring in the third. The fourth quarter was a battle, as the Warriors closed the gap to just one point, but the Leopards held strong and secured the 64-58 victory. 
 
2025 Second Team All-SCIAC members Alyssa Smith and Justine Prajitno also added 12 and ten points each to the Leopards total while Smith also picked up seven rebounds. Samantha Miller scored her first five points as a Leopard and tallied four rebounds.
 
The Leopards will be back in action Friday, November 14th when they take on the Life Pacific Warriors in San Dimas at 5:30 PM.
