Los Angeles, CA - The University of La Verne Men's basketball team lost on Saturday afternoon to Occidental College by a final of 92-52.

Percy Whittaker had a breakout performance, recording a career 14 points to lead all Leopards in scoring. The sophomore also collected four rebounds, an assist and a steal to round out his game.  

Other key contributors included Carlos Bedolla with nine points, five rebounds, and an assist and Kason White with seven points and five boards. Cody Aquino made his presence known off the bench scoring eight points with three rebounds while shooting two for three from three point range.

The Leopards were in a competitive ballgame in the first half trading buckets with Oxy. At the half, it was just an 11 point deficit and anyone's ballgame. The second half proved to be a different story with the Tigers outscoring the Leos 47-18. Occidental used a 17-0 run to seal the victory.

The biggest discrepancy in the battle in the key. The Tigers outscored La Verne 56-28 in points in the paint. 

Up next the Leopards will have a three week break before returning to the Tents for a non conference matchup against East Texas Baptist University on Friday, January 2nd at 1 p.m. in the Tents.
