Women's Golf Posts Program Record at SCIAC Championship

COSTA MESA, CA — The University of La Verne women's golf team wrapped up the 2025 SCIAC Golf Championship Tuesday with a sixth-place finish.

The SCIAC Championship featured five teams ranked in the top 40 nationally.  Pomona-Pitzer won the team title.

The Leopards opened the tournament with their best round in program history. The squad combined for a 311, 16 strokes in front of the following team.

Daniela Soto, Taylor Ward, and Alexis Aguilera led the Leopards on day one, each posting a +5. Aguilera made four birdies during the stretch, with Soto and Ward each sinking two.

Soto, a senior, finished in the top 25 in her final round as a Leopard. She ended the tournament with four birdies to take 24th overall.

Aguilera and Ward tied for 28th. Aguilera posted another birdie on the 13th on day three. Ward totaled five birdies, including the first hole on day three to start strong, and another on the 17th hole

Mia Gonzales played her best on day two, dropping six strokes from day one aided by two birdies. Senior Kaylee Perdomo closed on a high note, dropping 10 strokes on the final day of action.
