RIVERSIDE, CA — The University of La Verne women's golf team opened teh 2026 spring season at the West Coast Classic at Cany Crest Country Club with a 7th place finish.

Alexis Aguilera led the Leopards with a 25th-place finish, rising three spots during the second round. The senior started hot on day two, shooting two birdies over the front nine. Aguilera finished the tournament with a +9.

Fellow Senior Taylor Ward led the Leopards with four birdies during the two-day event. Mia Gonzales added 15 pars in the tournament. 

Newcomer Grace Freitas added two birdies of her own in round two. Hayley Kucera showed the biggest improvement between rounds, slashing 15 strokes in round two. 

The Leopards open SCIAC action on February 21 at Oliva Links Golf Course in Ventura.
