Women's Golf Competes at SCIAC No. 1

VENTURA, CA — Alexis Aguilera and Taylor Ward posted top-25 finished at the University of La Verne women's golf team competed at SCIAC No. 1.

Aguilera placed 16th, carding a +11 after rounds of 77 and 78 with two birdies in each round. Ward finished at +18 to finish in 24th with rounds of 80 and 82.

Mia Gonzales and Grace Freitas each moved up the leaderboard on day two. Gonzalez shaved three strokes off her card in round two. Freitas improved by nine shots on day two, aided by three birdies.

Hayley Kucera erased four shots from her card in the second round. Ysabel Zamora made the biggest improvement between rounds, taking off 18 shots on day two.

The Leopards finished sixth overall.

La Verne returns to action on March 16 at the CLU Regal Invitational hosted at Moorpark Country Club.
