REDLANDS, CA — Zachary Reid set a new school record and led the University of La Verne Track and Field teams at the final regular season meet of the season.
Reid finished with a time of 14.25 in the 110m hurdles, breaking his previous record of 14.31 he set at the SCIAC Championships last season. The time solidifies his spot at the NCAA Championships next week. The mark puts him well inside the qualifying quota. The NCAA will post the official entries on Friday, May 16, by 5 p.m.
Not to be outdone, junior Hunter Bond competed in the decathlon, where he set personal bests in four out of the 10 events to give him a decathlon personal record of 5870 points. Bond set new bests in the 100m (10.92), the 110m high hurdles (17.47), the discus (35.20m), and the pole vault (3.25m).
SCIAC Discus Champion Terrell James continued to impress with an effort of 44.62m.
