LA VERNE, CA — University of La Verne track and field head coach Kevin Reid has been appointed to the Team USA coaching staff for the upcoming 2025 World Track & Field Championships in Tokyo, Japan. The competition will take place September 13–21, 2025, at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
Coach Reid will serve as an assistant coach, overseeing the decathlon, long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault events. This marks another significant milestone in his distinguished coaching career at both the collegiate and international levels.
Reid's extensive USA Track & Field (USATF) coaching experience includes:
- Assistant Coach, 2016 World Indoor Track & Field Championships (Portland, OR)
- Assistant Coach, 2018 World Junior Championships (Tampere, Finland)
- Assistant Coach, 2019 Pan American Games (Lima, Peru)
- Assistant Coach, 2022 World Championships (Eugene, OR)
- Head Coach, 2023 World Championships (Budapest, Hungary)
- Assistant Coach, 2025 World Championships (Tokyo, Japan)
