LA VERNE, CA - The University of La Verne baseball team checked in at No. 16 in the D3baseball.com's Preseason Poll and
Ryan Vosika has been selected to the Preseason All-American Third Team.
The Leopards are coming off a historic 2025 campaign, finishing 35-11 overall, capturing their third consecutive SCIAC Regular Season Championship, winning the SCIAC Tournament for the first time since 2015 and earning a berth in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament.

Scott Winterburn enters his 26th season at the helm of the Leopards. During the 2025 season, Winterburn notched his 600th career victory in an April win over Caltech and was named Regional Coach of the Year, while multiple Leopards earned All-SCIAC and All-Region honors. Notably, senior starting pitcher Matthew Desmarets was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-American Second Team and signed with the Minnesota Twins following graduation.Â
Last season, Vosika earned D3baseball.com First Team All-Region, ABCA Second Team All-Region, and First Team All-SCIAC honors. He finished the year with .417 batting average, 70 hits, 29 RBIs, and 58 runs, all career bests.

La Verne is joined in the rankings by fellow SCIAC rivals, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags and Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, who are sitting at No. 12 and No. 19
The Leopards begin the 2026 campaign on Friday, February 13 at 2 p.m., hosting the Whitworth University Pirates at Ben Hines Field.
