LA VERNE, CA — Jack Holguin has been selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, the NCBWA announced.

Holguin adds the recognition to the flurry of awards he earned this week for his performance on the mound in a 15-0 win over Caltech. Holguin was also named the SCIAC Pitcher of the Week and selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

The freshman lefthander threw a seven-inning no-hitter in the win over the Beavers. Holguin struck out 10 and did not issue a walk in the outing. 

The Leopards will be back in action next Friday, April 10th, at 3 p.m. against the California Lutheran Kingsmen at Campus West.
