LA VERNE, CA— For the second consecutive week, the University of La Verne Volleyball team is ranked number one in the nation in the DIII AVCA/TARAFLEX Coach's Poll. The Leopards secured the first place spot last week for the first time since the 2002 preseason poll, and defended their hard-earned title for another week.

Entering their second week of SCIAC play, they remain undefeated after a 3-2 victory over Whittier College and a 3-1 win over Pomona-Pitzer, to improve to 11-0, the best start in program history. The Leos are one of only three remaining undefeated Division III teams.
