Huerta Leads Men's Golf in Spring Opener

RIVERSIDE, CA — The University of La Verne men's golf team opened the 2026 spring season at the West Coast Invite hosted at the Victoria Club, finishing in 13th place.

Manuel Huerta led the Leopards, taking 37th overall. The junior improved his score by two strokes in round two. He was consistent during the tournament, shooting 11 pars in each round and adding a birdie in round two. He finished in the top three in par-three scoring and tied four third with 24 total pars.

Caleb Ruchaber shot four birdies in the tournament and saved 10 strokes off his card between rounds, moving up 12 spots on the leaderboard.

Shreyas Kumaresh finished with two birdies in each round and improved by four strokes in round two.

Lincoln Sinclair totaled four birdies in the tournament, including three in the back nine of round two. The sophomore was consistent, shooting a 79 in each round. David Cho shaved two strokes off his game in round two and finished the invite with two birdies.

The Leopards compete next at SCIAC No.1 on February 21 at Olivas Links Golf Course.
