REDLANDS, CA — The No. 3 seed University of La Verne softball team is scheduled to take on the No. 2 seed Chapman University Panthers, hosted by the University of Redlands, in round one of the SCIAC Tournament tomorrow at Field of Dreams Field in Redlands at 1 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on Flocollege.

Leopard Preview
The Panthers took two games from La Verne this season, but the Leopards ended the series with a commanding 10-2, six-inning run-rule win to knock the then No. 22 Panthers out of the national rankings. The Leopards put themselves in position to make the tournaments by winning a late-season series against the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens. The Leopards clinched the three-seed after defeating Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on the final Friday of the regular season.
Allie Colenzo,
Briana Vasquez, and
Kylee Knight, were selected to the All-SCIAC honors heading into tournament play.
On the mound, Vasquez is looking to add to her impressive statistics. The sophomore has pitched a whopping 129 innings, including ten wins and 13complete games, striking out 53 batters in the process.
As a team, ULV finished the regular season 17-23 overall and 11-10 in SCIAC play.

The winner of round one will go on to play the winner of the No. 1 Redlands vs. No. 4 Whittier, also held at Redlands on Friday at 3:30 p.m. From there, the brackets split into a winners and losers bracket of double elimination play.Â
