LA VERNE, Calif. – University of La Verne Director of Athletics Dr. Jenna Panatier has announced the resignation of softball head coach Dennis Blas.
"We are truly grateful for all that Dennis has contributed during his tenure at La Verne, and wish him all the best," said Director Panatier. "It was an incredibly tough choice for him, and I fully respect his decision to prioritize family. As we move forward into the future of Leopard Softball, I'm confident we will secure a terrific coach to lead this program."
In four seasons at the helm of the Leopard softball program, including two truncated COVID-19 seasons, Coach Blas owned a 61-43 record and led the team to the SCIAC Conference Championship Tournament in 2022.
"I would like to thank the University of La Verne for the past four years. It is a great place to work because of the family atmosphere," said Blas. "I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. I want to thank the assistant coaches and the softball players for believing in the vision I had for the program, and I hope I was able to make a difference in their lives."
