Three Leopard's Earn All-SCIAC Honors

LA VERNE, CA – Zachary Reid, Terrell James, and Peyton Carrera earned All-SCIAC honors the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Friday.

Reid capped off his final SCIAC Championships in dominant fashion, blazing to victory in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.54—nearly four-tenths of a second ahead of the runner-up. The win marked Reid's second consecutive SCIAC title and third overall in his standout La Verne career. Last season, he set both the La Verne program and SCIAC meet record with a time of 14.31. The senior standout was named SCIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week three times this season.

Freshman James made an unforgettable debut at the SCIAC Championships, claiming the title in the discus with a throw of 43.21m (141'9") on his second attempt. Entering the meet ranked fifth in the event, James outperformed expectations to secure a statement win in his first collegiate postseason appearance.

Carrera added another podium finish for the Leopards, placing third in the women's 800m with a time of 2:18.87. The junior set the pace early, leading through the first 400 meters before digging deep over the final stretch to hold off challengers and secure the top-three finish.
