Track and Field Finish Regular Season with PRs in Redlands

REDLANDS, CA — The University of La Verne track and field teams closed out the regular season at the Redlands Final Qualifier.

A small group of Leopards competed at the annual last chance meet. The Leos used the momentum gained at the SCIAC Championships, which featured numerous personal bests, to propel them to outstanding showings in the Inland Empire.

The Leopards posted nine new personal records to close out the season.

Senior Hunter Bond, who recently earned the La Verne Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and All-SCIAC honors, set a personal record in the pole vault while posting his second-best lifetime performance in the decathlon (6051).

Fresh off earning All-SCIAC honors, Harrison Brown added a PR in the 110m high hurdles (15.34).

Fellow senior Alec Maxwell finished strong with a new personal best in the pole vault (4.51m, 14' 9.5").

Joseph Chavarria PR'd in the 1500m (4:15.65). Chavarria's 2026 campaign featured personal records in every event from the 800m to the 10,000m.

Senior Madison Xie led the throwers with a PR in the hammer throw (34.09m, 111' 10").

In the jumps, Jasmine Prajitno led the way with a PR in the long jump (5.16m, 16' 11.25") and a season best in the triple jump (10.43m, 34' 2.75").

Two more Leopards set PR's in the long jump, with Luke Bentley (6.56m, 21' 6.25") and Towart Kahungu (6.42m, 21' 0.75") both setting new top marks.
