LA VERNE, CA — Alanna Jones, Joshua Simonton, and Natalie Kooba all picked up SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.

Jones picks up her first SCIAC Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week honor after leading the Leopards to a perfect 3-0 week. Jones tallied 35 kills, including a career-high 15 in a five-set win at Redlands. She added 12 to sweep previously undefeated APU on the road. She finished the week with 14 blocks and six digs.

Simonton earns his second SCIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week award this season. He was perfect in two wins for the La Verne men's soccer team. The senior didn't allow a goal as the Leopards shut out Pomona-Pitzer 2-0 and Caltech 5-0. Simonton recorded four saves against the Sagehens and added one more in a half of work against the Beavers.

Kooba grabs her first SCIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week selection after scoring the game-winner in a clutch 3-1 win at Occidental to keep La Verne's postseason hopes alive. Kooba powered in a deflection from a long cross to the box to put La Verne up 2-1.
