Holguin Named SCIAC Pitcher of the Week

LA VERNE, CA — Jack Holguin has been named the SCIAC Pitcher of the Week, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.

Holguin turned in a strong outing in his lone appearance of the week, delivering six solid innings in his start for the Leopards. The freshman southpaw allowed just five hits and two runs, with only one earned, while striking out two and limiting damage throughout the appearance. His efficient performance was reflected in an impressive 1.50 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP for the week.

This is the second SCIAC Pitcher of the Week honor for Holguin this season. He picked up the award in early April when he stole the show and was nearly perfect in a 15-0 win over Caltech. He tossed a seven-inning, no-hit complete game. He struck out 10 Beavers with no walks and was one hit batter away from a perfect game.
