LA VERNE, CA — Jaidynn Alvarez has been tabbed the SCIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday.

The right-hander dazzled for the Leopards in a 10-2, six-inning, run-rule win over No. 22 Chapman. The senior went six innings, limiting the Panthers to just two runs with no walks.
Alvarez is the fourth Leopard softball player and third pitcher to earn SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors.
Briana Vasquez earned the SCIAC Pitcher of the Week award after picking up two wins in the SCIAC-opening series against Occidental.
Alyssa Tafolla grabbed the
Pitcher of the Week accolades after guiding the Leopards to a come-from-behind 4-3 win over George Fox, where she tossed 3.1 scoreless innings to earn her first collegiate win.
Julia Miramontes earned the
Hitter of the Week distinction for going 6-11 at the plate with two RBIs, four runs, four walks, five stolen bases, and one hit by pitch against Stevens and Trinity (TX).
